As our founder, master certified specialist, Gwendoline Johnston, is one of the most experienced, knowledgeable, and trusted names in the industry. Her decades of experience include training, speaking at the most prominent events, and pioneering numerous techniques used by countless artists both in South Africa and internationally.

Gwendoline Johnston requires little introduction given her extensive career in the beauty industry which began in 1987 with intense studies in the cosmetics and skincare industry. In January 2000 she qualified and began practicing as a Permanent Make-up Aesthetician at a busy salon in Eastgate. During October 2013, she attained the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics (AIIC) Masters Certification. Gwendoline has keeps up to date with the latest international techniques and trends, attending numerous local and international Advanced Permanent Makeup seminars, conferences and workshops.

Gwendoline’s vast knowledge and experience attained over the past twenty-one years, together with a thorough understanding of skin and colour, has placed her in the confident position to teach, present, advise and perform in all areas of advanced permanent make-up, including para-medical applications. Ongoing education is really important to us and we attend as many Advanced Permanent Makeup training seminars, master classes, conferences and workshops wherever possible.

Permanent Makeup by Gwendoline is affiliated with local and international Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists, Specialists and Medical Spa’s.
